Background

This event was organized to get the general public to participate in sports activities with athletes, and to provide an opportunity for them to view athletes in action. Guest athletes held track and field demonstrations on the grounds of the Sensoji Temple of Asakusa. Gymnasts Kohei Uchimura and Nijiko Tsurumi, both qualified for the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo, were in attendance, and held a sports clinic for children and participated in a talk-show format.

What we did

Based on our vast experience in organizing sports events in Tokyo, we planned and managed the event and all related PR activities. The venue, the grounds of the Sensoji Temple, was the perfect location for PR as it offered views of the new Tokyo-Skytree. Combining our PR skills with the atmosphere of the venue, we succeeded in creating a big buzz and attracting the attention of the media. This event generated interest in the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship and the 2013 Sports Festival, both held in Tokyo.
