DMM Eikaiwa is conducting a campaign limited to August 1st (Fri) – August 31st (Sun), where the first month of membership for specific plans is 1 yen. Because it was necessary to generate buzz around campaign information that has been implemented multiple times in the past, the first page of the press release was designed in the style of a discount flyer exclusively for the media, and the release was created. The impactful design, based on the brand color orange, was intended to differentiate it from other companies’ press releases. In addition, in order to directly appeal to layers with a high affinity for English conversation, we collaborated with a <span>popular English conversation YouTube channel</span> with connections to DMM Eikaiwa, and released a video on “English that can be used on overseas trips.”

The first month 1-yen campaign has been implemented multiple times in the past, and because new information was weak, it was necessary to implement impactful measures for the media to generate buzz around this initiative. In addition, we believed it was important to directly appeal to those considering joining DMM Eikaiwa.

● Creating Uniqueness and Familiarity

The press release was arranged into a discount flyer-style release that mimicked special sale flyers often seen in supermarkets, devising ways to make simple information catch the eye. In addition, focusing on the relationship between DMM Eikaiwa and celebrities, which has been a topic in the past, we implemented a YouTube collaboration with channels and themes that could directly appeal to layers highly compatible with English conversation.

● Positive Reactions from Both Media and Users

Multiple exposures were gained with approaches that made use of the initiative's ideas, such as straightforward campaign information articles and articles focusing on discount flyer-style releases. The YouTube introduction content, which can be put into practice immediately, also received favorable comments.
