SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Inc. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Etsuko Tsugihara; hereinafter, “the Company”) has been awarded the “Bronze Medal,” granted to only the top 35% of all companies assessed, in the sustainability assessment conducted by EcoVadis (Headquarters: France), an international sustainability rating organization.

EcoVadis’ sustainability assessment evaluates companies’ sustainability efforts from four perspectives: “Environment,” “Labor and Human Rights,” “Ethics,” and “Sustainable Procurement,” targeting over 150,000 companies in 185 countries worldwide. The assessment is scored out of 100 points, and companies that meet certain criteria are awarded medals according to their performance. In recent years, as global interest in corporate sustainability has grown, an increasing number of global companies are using EcoVadis’ assessment as a reference indicator for selecting business partners, and more companies in Japan are working to obtain this assessment.

As a PR and communications group, the Company has been involved in various projects aimed at solving social issues, both internally and externally. We are actively promoting initiatives for the realization of a sustainable society, such as promoting diversity, including the advancement of women, and, in recent years, acquiring B Corp certification. This time, in particular, our efforts in the field of “Labor and Human Rights” to create an environment in which each member can work with ease and realize their full potential by incorporating diversity perspectives into work styles, human resource development, and personnel evaluations were highly evaluated, leading to the acquisition of the Bronze Medal.
