活動期間:
August 2025–December 2025

SUNNY SIDE UP handled PR activities for the largest original artwork exhibition in the series’ history, “City Hunter Original Artwork Exhibition: FOREVER, CITY HUNTER!!,” commemorating the 40th anniversary of “City Hunter,” currently being held at The Ueno Royal Museum from Saturday, November 22, 2025. We also held an advance media preview on Friday, November 21. Using hooks such as the immersive, experiential exhibits—centered on photo spots recreating iconic settings familiar to fans and enabling visitors to deeply immerse themselves in the world of the original work—we attracted and secured coverage from a wide range of media, not only in “manga/anime,” but also across genres such as “general news,” “outings,” and “art.”

背景

● Building awareness among a broad audience

• This is the largest original artwork exhibition in the series’ history.
• Against the backdrop of the recent success of the live-action adaptations, we aim to welcome not only original fans, but also those who have only recently discovered “City Hunter.”
For these reasons, we sought to build broad awareness.

アイデア

● Leveraging the 40th anniversary momentum and promoting the immersive exhibits

By highlighting the elements below, we created reasons for the media to feature it now.
• With the 40th anniversary as a catalyst, “City Hunter” has been rolling out a variety of initiatives, and as public momentum builds, “City Hunter” has become a topic of broad public interest.
• The exhibition is packed with immersive displays centered on familiar scenes known even to casual fans, making it enjoyable regardless of how long someone has been a fan.

成果

● Long lines of visitors waiting for the doors to open on opening day

At the media preview held prior to the opening, 62 attendees from 40 media outlets participated, and we successfully generated publicity to the extent that lines formed on opening day as visitors waited for the venue to open.
In addition, it achieved exposure across a cumulative total of 1,226 media outlets and recorded an advertising value equivalent of ¥489,176,590 (as of January 30, 2026).
During the exhibition period, TBS’s “Ousama no Brunch,” in the segment “Kataritai hodo Manga-zuki,” featured the exhibition for approximately 12 minutes, successfully providing in-depth coverage.
