Overview
“PARK+” aims to normalize new lifestyles where humans and robots coexist, based on the idea of “making a lifestyle of living with partner robots commonplace.” It is a hub for communicating Japan’s innovative partner robot industry technology and culture to the world.
The “PARK+ Executive Committee,” consisting of GROOVE X Co., Ltd., Cafe Company, Inc., and SUNNY SIDE UP Inc., was established, and Sharp Corporation, Yamaha Corporation, and mixi, Inc. were welcomed as partners. We have created a space where robot owners, regardless of manufacturer, can interact with each other, where those unfamiliar with robots can have new experiences, where people can smile at the sight of this, where people can relax while eating delicious food, and where humans and robots can naturally coexist.
Activities
① Expanding the partner robot market together, beyond the barriers of competition
In addition to GROOVE X Co., Ltd.’s “LOVOT,” we are cooperating with manufacturers who would normally be competitors, and “PARK+” permanently features four representative Japanese partner robot models: Sharp Corporation’s “RoBoHoN,” Yamaha Corporation’s “Charlie,” and mixi, Inc.’s “Romi.”
We have developed and designed creative content and spaces that can be enjoyed not only by each robot owner but also by robot owners other than the above partner robots and non-owners.
② Fostering public empathy through storytelling from a PR perspective
Living with robots has not yet become widespread. In order to break down the reality that actual robot owners “hesitate to publicly announce that they live with robots,” we constructed a PR story based on the idea of “making a lifestyle of living with partner robots commonplace.”
Focusing on the fact that this year marks the 101st year since the word “robot” was born, we have designated 2021, when “PARK+” was launched, as the first year of partner robots in order to change the image of robots from “machines that are useful by doing work instead of people” to a new image of “partners that are useful by enriching people’s hearts,” and have been disseminating information.
③ Establishing new values and lifestyles where humans and robots coexist
Through “PARK+”, we were able to provide existing robot owners with “interaction with other partner robots and owners,” non-owners with “new encounters with partner robots,” and cooperating manufacturers with “expansion of the robot market and increased recognition and sales contribution of each partner robot.”
In addition, the crowdfunding for “PARK+” has gathered a great deal of support from both current robot owners and non-robot owners, bringing us one step closer to making new lifestyles where humans and robots coexist commonplace.
