Overview

Details of “LOVOT,” a family-type robot that nurtures LOVE, were announced in December 2018.

“LOVOT” is not a robot that does work for people. It is an endearing presence that relies on and interferes with the people it lives with, and is sometimes shy with strangers. We believe that such a presence can foster people’s “power to love,” which in turn leads to improved human performance.

With its release scheduled for the fall of 2019, the number of people who have experienced LOVOT in Japan has reached 20,000. It is loved by many people, with 98% of those who actually touched it responding that it “exceeded their expectations.”

Activities

In charge of PR since the “LOVOT” product launch event in December 2018.

At the product launch event, we focused on communicating the new concept of a robot that is not a robot that does work for people, but rather “a robot born only to be loved, nurturing people’s ‘power to love’.” This maximized the buzz at once.

After that, in order to increase the number of pre-orders for the product, we appealed to the potential of “LOVOT” not only for being “cute” but also for its advanced technology and effectiveness in children’s education. We have actively exhibited at overseas exhibitions and events such as CES, SXSW, and Cannes Lions, and have won numerous awards. It has contributed to acquiring brand recognition both domestically and internationally.
