A Japanese samurai suddenly appeared in Brazil, the home of soccer. While wearing a helmet and armor, he demonstrated overwhelming soccer techniques in various locations throughout Brazil. The figure of the samurai skillfully manipulating a soccer ball became a major topic of conversation.

SUNNY SIDE UP cast its affiliated athlete, Kotaro Tokuda, in the Cup Noodle commercial “Samurai in Brazil,” and filmed it in Brazil, the home of soccer. This commercial was released to coincide with the 2014 World Cup and received high praise both domestically and internationally. The video released online recorded over 8.5 million views in three months. In order to enhance not only the commercial but also Tokuda’s own branding value, we arranged for numerous media and event appearances.
