JAPAN CRAFT SAKE COMPANY, Inc., represented by Hidetoshi Nakata—an Executive Officer and Executive Officer of SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Inc. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President CEO: Etsuko Tsugihara)—will host Japan’s food culture festival “CRAFT SAKE WEEK 2026 with OMAKASE byGMO at ROPPONGI HILLS” for 13 days from Friday, April 17 to Wednesday, April 29 (national holiday), 2026, at Roppongi Hills Arena (Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo).

Since its first edition in 2016, “CRAFT SAKE WEEK” has continued to share the appeal of Japanese food culture, including sake, both in Japan and abroad. With total attendance exceeding 1.25 million, it has also drawn strong interest from international media and chefs. This event is not merely a tasting event; it has continually evolved as a cultural platform that redefines the value of sake and expands its possibilities.

Over the past decade, the value and market for sake have expanded both domestically and internationally, and in the global restaurant scene, sake is gaining attention as a presence alongside wine. By continuously creating a place that connects sake with chefs, brewers, and consumers, “CRAFT SAKE WEEK” has helped drive the development of Japanese food culture.

This 10th-anniversary edition will be held for a record-long 13 days. A record-high 130 breweries will gather, selected from tastings of approximately 400 breweries by around 200 people, including Hidetoshi Nakata as well as sake experts, top chefs, and sommeliers. On the final day, Takagi Shuzo—one of the leading names in the sake world—will also participate, with rare labels such as “Juyondai” included in the lineup.

In addition, a record-high 20 restaurants will participate. On the final day, Wednesday, April 29 (national holiday), highly acclaimed and hard-to-book establishments in Japan and abroad—such as “TACUBO” (Italian), “L’Effervescence” (French), “Torishiki ICHIMON” (yakitori), and “Fureika” (Chinese)—will open pop-ups at the venue. Furthermore, the “Ishikawa Group,” which operates Ishikawa, Kohaku, and more, will appear as the 10th-anniversary special lineup “Team Ishikawa,” offering a sake pairing experience befitting this milestone.

This year’s venue design will be led by Shohei Shigematsu, Partner at OMA New York, an architectural design firm active internationally across cultural boundaries—from exhibition design at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and flagship stores for global brands to urban development in Japan. With “feast” as the theme, the design expresses the vibrancy and atmosphere of a celebratory occasion. Using fabric as a material to further highlight the openness of the plaza, it will create an impressive experience that visualizes the bustle of the space and changes in the environment.

During the event period, 10 breweries will appear each day on a rotating basis under a different daily theme. At the venue, brewery members themselves will serve sake, allowing visitors to learn how to enjoy sake and how to pair it with food—creating opportunities to experience its appeal even more deeply.

We invite you to experience firsthand the value and potential of Japanese food culture, starting with sake, at the venue. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you.
