SUNNY SIDE UP Inc. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ryu Cichow), which is responsible for the core business of SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Inc., is pleased to announce that it has signed a management agreement with professional tennis player Miyu Kato, effective August 1, 2023 (Tuesday). In addition to supporting her activities as a player, we plan to work together on various social activities.

Miyu Kato turned professional in 2013 and debuted on the ITF Women’s World Tour. She has won various titles both domestically and internationally. At the 2017 Australian Open, she achieved the historic feat of reaching the best 4 for the first time as a Japanese pair, and at the 2017 French Open, she entered the singles main draw. In September of the same year, she won through the qualifying rounds at the Japan Women’s Open and finished runner-up in singles. In 2018, she achieved the first victory as a Japanese pair at the Toray Pan Pacific Open held in Japan, and in 2022, she participated in the doubles at all four Grand Slam tournaments, showing aggressive performance in both singles and doubles.

In the 2023 French Open women’s doubles, she overcame the disqualification turmoil caused by a severe penalty, switched gears, and won her first Grand Slam title in the mixed doubles. With further success in the future, she aims to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympics and achieve even greater success on the world stage.

〈Comment from Miyu Kato〉
I am pleased to announce that I have signed a management agreement with SUNNY SIDE UP. Since winning the French Open, I have received an increasing number of supportive comments such as, “I watched tennis for the first time and became interested!” and “I didn’t know tennis, but I’m cheering for you!” I am still surprised by the great response. As I would like to continue to convey the fun of energy and sports to many people through player activities and various social activities, I am pleased to have become a member of a professional and reliable team. My motto in playing is “to enjoy first,” and by partnering with SUNNY SIDE UP, I will create a lot of “fun excitement.”
