October 19 is “International Menstrual Hygiene Day.” Kao Corporation’s sanitary product brand “Laurier,” which promotes the napkin equipment project “Workplace Laurier” that started from the voices of working people, will be held on October 10 15 (Tue) at the talk event “Considering Working Women and Health: What Healthcare Support is Needed in the Workplace Now?” hosted by W society. She took the stage as a co-sponsor.
Sarina Koga, former captain of the Japan women’s national volleyball team, who took the stage as a special guest, and Organon Inc., a healthcare company that has a vision for women’s health, held a talk session on health issues specific to women (such as menstruation) and the necessary healthcare support in the workplace to support working women.

● How to Deliver Information to “Human Resources/General Affairs”
Kao Corporation's sanitary product brand, Laurier, launched the “Workplace Laurier” project in 2022 to promote the provision of sanitary napkins in the workplace. In order to make more companies aware of the necessity of “Workplace Laurier” as “one of the healthcare support methods in the workplace,” it was necessary to appeal to the personnel and general affairs managers, who are the departments that consider and decide on implementation in companies, about the “significance of working on it as a company” and “the sense of satisfaction that it will be a plus for employees.”

● Enlightenment Event Implemented in Collaboration with W society
This time, it was considered important to understand the target insights and the value of “Workplace Laurier” and to select a partner who would run alongside us in disseminating information. We focused on the life design seminar “W school,” which is regularly held by the project “W society,” which designs “Well-living” for each and every woman, to learn about women's bodies, healthcare, and how to balance their careers. Kao co-sponsored the event, which was attended by many personnel and general affairs managers.

● Topic on “Yahoo! Top” and “news23”
Although it was a difficult theme of “health issues specific to women,” we succeeded in attracting 15 media outlets, including 2 TV programs, through media approaches. Ms. Koga, who had just retired as a volleyball player, spoke about her menstrual problems during her active career, which led to TV exposure on Yahoo! Top and news23. There were also responses from many women with menstrual problems, as well as personnel and general affairs managers, such as, “I am grateful that an influential person is talking about menstruation” and “I learned about Workplace Laurier for the first time.”
