Japan Post Group
Japan Post Group “Carbon Offset New Year’s Card” Strategic PR
- 活動期間:
- October 2006 – March 2010
Overview
In October 2007, the Postal Services Agency was privatized and newly launched as the Japan Post Group.
SUNNY SIDE UP had been supporting group public relations for about a year before the privatization. As a project to newly consider social contribution projects suitable for the Japan Post Group, we planned and proposed the “Carbon Offset New Year’s Card.” The “Carbon Offset New Year’s Card” has a donation of 5 yen per card, which is a mechanism that allows the acquisition and cancellation of greenhouse gas emission rights. It attracted attention as a mechanism that allows individuals to participate in the national project “Team Minus 6%” led by the government after the Kyoto Protocol.
Activities
Implemented communication activities to support the recognition and sales promotion of “Carbon Offset New Year’s Card.”
We handled the planning, production, and operation of the public relations secretariat and official website, which are the basis of the activities. Furthermore, as various measures to create buzz, we produced viral movies featuring Hidetoshi Nakata, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Uno Kanda, held press conferences using Kosuke Kitajima, produced web content, held events such as children’s classes with Hirotada Ototake as a teacher, and implemented tie-up projects with facilities such as Asahiyama Zoo and Epson Shinagawa Aqua Stadium and the monthly magazine “Sotokoto.” We developed communication activities using various resources and contributed to the recognition and sales promotion of “Carbon Offset New Year’s Card.”
