Overview

The “JTB Maui Marathon,” Hawaii’s oldest running event, is an overseas marathon that everyone from children to adults and seniors, from running beginners to serious runners, can enjoy. The main events are the full marathon and half marathon, as well as 10km, 5km, and 1 mile (1.6km) races, all while feeling the magnificent nature and the cobalt blue sea. It is held every September. The full marathon in particular is known as one of the world’s most “scenic marathon courses,” with a luxurious course layout that allows runners to view the sacred Mt. Haleakala dyed in the morning sun in the early stages, feel the cobalt blue sea within reach in the middle stages, and run through the townscape of the ancient city of Halaina and the luxury resort of Kaanapali in the final stages.

Activities

SUNNY SIDE UP operates the Japan office for the Maui Marathon. In addition to promoting the appeal of the Maui Marathon, an overseas marathon event, to Japanese people, we also contribute to local community revitalization by sending Japanese customers to Maui Island (a remote island) in Hawaii from the position of the Japan office, thereby boosting sports tourism. In addition, we plan and implement local internship programs for university students, and are committed to fostering the next generation that will lead the sports and tourism industries in the future.
