SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Inc. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Etsuko Tsugihara) has received a “Commendation” in the “Diversity and Inclusion Company of the Year” category at the “PR Awards Asia-Pacific 2024,” an award organized by “Campaign,” the largest advertising and marketing media in the Asia-Pacific region. It is the only company in the entire Asian region covered by this award to receive this award in this category.

This award is a special prize given to companies that demonstrate ingenuity in building diversity-tolerant organizations and inclusive workplace environments, and in fostering corporate cultures that embrace diverse people.

Our company, as one of the few listed companies in Japan with a female President and CEO, and with women comprising over 60% of the group’s workforce, has been actively engaged in promoting diversity and inclusion for 40 years. This includes creating a society where everyone can thrive, building companies and environments where women can easily work, and developing a wide range of activities aimed at solving social issues. In addition, Etsuko Tsugihara, the representative of our group, was recognized for her activities leading the promotion of DEI throughout Japanese society as the Chairperson of the Diversity Promotion Committee of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), which led to this award.

What is PR Awards Asia-Pacific?

PR Awards Asia-Pacific is an award organized by Haymarket Media Group, which operates “Campaign” and “PRWeek,” the UK’s largest media for the marketing and communication industry, and recognizes outstanding PR activities developed in the Asia-Pacific region. This is the 23rd time it has been held, and it is known as the most prestigious PR award in Asia.
