SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Introduces “Vaccination Leave System” within its Unique Employee Benefits Program, “The 32 Systems”

SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Inc. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Etsuko Tsugihara) and SUNNY SIDE UP Inc. will introduce a “Vaccination Leave System” from April 12, 2021 (Monday) as part of its unique employee benefits program, “The 32 Systems,” to help bring about an early end to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vaccination against the novel coronavirus is expected to be rolled out to the general public in the future. It is anticipated that many office workers, whose weekdays are working days, will want to be vaccinated on holidays, and there is a current need for companies to create environmental systems that will “enable prompt vaccination of all citizens.”

Against this backdrop, our company and SUNNY SIDE UP Inc. will promote the creation of environmental systems that enable “flexible and diverse work styles” tailored to each employee member, and will introduce a “Vaccination Leave System” with the aim of helping to bring about an early end to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under this system, all employee members (full-time employees, contract employees, and part-time employees) will be granted one day of special leave for each vaccination. This will be established as an employee benefit system so that employee members who wish to be vaccinated can do so safely and promptly without hesitation. In addition, if an employee is forced to take time off from work due to side effects after vaccination, the time off will not be treated as sick leave, but special leave will be granted.

To date, our company has established a system that allows all employees to undergo PCR testing at no personal expense, and has also implemented flexible countermeasures in response to the situation at the time, such as promoting telework and staggered commuting, and ensuring social distancing at work.

We hope that more companies will introduce “Vaccination Leave” in the future, that the COVID-19 infection will be brought to an end as soon as possible, and that we will promote the creation of environmental systems that will enable everyone to work safely and in a “flexible and diverse manner.”

■About the “Vaccination Leave System”

Eligible parties: All employees of SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP and SUNNY SIDE UP Inc. (full-time employees, contract employees, and part-time employees)

Overview: One day of special leave will be granted for the day of vaccination for each vaccination received.
Additional special leave will be granted in the event of side effects, and will not be treated as sick leave.

Applicable period: From April 12, 2021 (Monday) until the time when the COVID-19 infection is expected to subside

■About the Unique Employee Benefits Program, “The 32 Systems”

Our group seeks human resources with creative ideas and high communication skills. In 2011, before the term “work style reform” even existed, we introduced our unique employee benefits program, “The 32 Systems,” based on the idea that “fulfilling work leads to fulfilling private life, and fulfilling private life leads to better work.” We have incorporated unique systems such as private life enrichment leave systems such as “Love Match Leave,” “Heartbreak Leave,” and “Family Holiday,” as well as the “Happiness Doesn’t Come on Foot” system to promote health maintenance.

In addition, we are promoting the creation of environmental systems that enable “flexible and diverse work styles” tailored to each employee member through the implementation of the “Tanokin” system, which encourages employees to take “Premium Fridays,” and the “Happy Sunny Day” system, which encourages employees to engage in off-site sales activities and telework once a month to foster more free-thinking ideas.
