Etsuko Tsugihara, President and CEO of SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Inc. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), has been appointed as a board member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) for 2021-2022. She was first elected in 2019, and this term will run from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2022.

IPRA (Headquarters: UK, Established: 1955) is a global PR association officially recognized by the United Nations. For more than half a century since its establishment, it has been conducting activities aimed at improving the theory, practice, and skills of PR worldwide. Today, it has members including PR companies from over 100 countries around the world, and is known as the most prestigious organization in the PR industry.

In addition, the “Golden World Awards,” established by the association in 1990 to recognize outstanding PR projects from around the world, is one of the leading awards in the PR industry, with entries received from around the world every year.

The board members selected this time consist of a total of 19 members selected from PR companies and advertising agencies representing various countries around the world, and Tsugihara is the only Japanese person among the board members.

The elected board members are, so to speak, “19 people who lead the world’s PR industry.” In the future, as a board member, Tsugihara will serve as a judge for the “Golden World Awards,” and will participate in and speak at online PR conferences both in Japan and overseas, and will work for two years to contribute to raising the level of the world’s PR industry.
